I just finished editing the first draft of the weilan mafia AU. I should probably start calling it the gangster AU because that's more correct. It's 14k now with many planned scenes still unwritten. This month, words haven't been flowing quite as easily and that's been bothering me but anyway, I'm gonna get this done! Perhaps very slowly, but it's gonna get done! Here's a snippet.

"Fuck! You're losing too much blood." At this rate, Zhao Yunlan will have to arrest himself for murder. "It's not too late to call an ambulance," he tries again but Shen Wei rejects the idea.

"How do you think I can stop this?" Zhao Yunlan yells at him without meaning to.

"It's lessening—"

"Because you're running out of blood!"

"—just put a bandage over it."

Hmmm... I'm gonna add the snippet I posted last month at brush_and_lantern's party post under a cut too.

"You're telling me you're afraid of being one of my mistakes?"

Shen Wei visibly ponders the question. "I'm afraid... you'll regret me." When Zhao Yunlan tries to answer, Shen Wei doesn't let him. "And when you do... I won't be able to take that."

"No when, Shen Wei."

"You can't be sure."

"Trust me," Zhao Yunlan says as he leans in Shen Wei's space. A heated second passes and Shen Wei kisses him, relentless and wanting, afraid.

Zhao Yunlan wants to quench the thirst he feels, wants to burn up in Shen Wei's arms and show him that fire isn't anything to fear.
